What is the IPPT Calculator?

The IPPT calculator is a tool used to calculate the IPPT Score and avoid the hassle of doing the calculations manually. Instead of manually calculating your scores, it automatically calculates points based on your age, push-up reps, sit-ups, and run time. You can get instant results and know where you stand before the test. This calculator allows you to:

  • Predict your IPPT score
  • Track your progress
  • 2.4km Lap Pacing
  • Determine your eligibility for awards and incentives.
  • Body Mass Index calculation

What Is the IPPT and Why Every NS man Needs to Know His Score

Every NS-man in Singapore knows the IPPT. It stands for Individual Physical Proficiency Test. MIN-DEF uses it to test the physical fitness of operationally ready NSmen every year. Miss your window or fail to pass and you could be looking at 10 sessions of mandatory NS FIT.

The test has 3 stations: Push-ups, Sit-ups, and the 2.4km run. Scoring is age-based. A 22-year-old and a 35-year-old doing the same reps will not get the same score.

Scoring Breakdown

Push-ups: up to 25 points. Sit-ups: up to 25 points. 2.4km run: up to 50 points. Total: 100 points. Minimum to pass: 51 points with at least 1 point per station.

Award Tiers

Pass: 51–60 pts. Pass with Incentive: 61–74 pts. Silver: 75–84 pts. Gold: 85+ pts. Gold and Silver come with cash incentives for eligible NSmen.

IPPT Scoring System Explained

The IPPT tests three stations. You need at least 1 point per station and a minimum total of 51 points to pass.

Key Facts

  • IPPT window runs 1 April – 31 March (Financial Year).
  • Pre-enlistees can score 61+ points to skip 8 weeks of PTP.

  • Female participants have modified benchmarks and separate scoring.

Takes less than 1 minute. Select your service type and age group. Enter your push-up reps, sit-up reps, and 2.4km run time. Your estimated score, pass status and award tier appear instantly. Try different numbers to see how improving one station changes your total.

How to Use the IPPT Target Planner

IPPT Training Tips

Push-up Tips

Train at least twice a week. Do timed sets — start at 30 seconds, build to 60. Lock in proper form first. Stop a few reps before failure in training. Save your max for the actual test.

Sit-up Tips

Use clean full-range reps — half reps do not count. Train core 3 times a week. Pace yourself from the start. Do not burn out in the first 20 seconds.

2.4km Run Tips

Do one interval session per week — run 400m fast, rest, repeat 4–6 times. Add one easy 4–5km run weekly to build your base. Use the lap pacer to set your per-lap target. Do not sprint at the start.

Know Your IPPT Window

NSmen get a specific IPPT window each year based on their ORD date. Miss the pass within your window and you go into NS FIT — 10 mandatory sessions before you can attempt again. Start using this calculator at least 8–12 weeks out.

Wrapping Up

This calculator simplifies IPPT scoring and helps you track your fitness milestones before test day. Whether you’re aiming for Gold, Silver, or just a clean pass — use it to train smarter, not harder.
